The 2022 Capacity Boost Grant is supported by Food Banks Canada to expand the food bank network’s capacity to accept, distribute, grow or safely handle/store perishable food. This fund supports food bank organizations to improve their system capacity to expand their perishable food recovery programs with the ultimate goal of increasing the amount of perishable food they are able to accept from recovery partners, and thereby increase the amount of food made available to food-insecure households in their community.
Eligible Applicants:
- Provincial associations
- Affiliate food banks (member of aprovincial association)
- Food banks and food security organizations located in a northern community
- In line with Food Banks Canada’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion granting principles, additional consideration may be given to food banks and food security organizations that are led by and/or primarily serving Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Colour
