The Resilient Communities Fund is a new, ground-breaking, one-time grant being offered by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. This grant funds a flexible range of activities and projects, over two deadlines, to address the diverse needs of non-profit and charitable organizations. This post provides a simple explanation of the grant and the funding provided.
Funds will support the non-profit sector’s recovery from the effects of Covid-19. The grant aims to help non-profits and charities rebuild so that they can effectively meet the needs of Ontario communities.
The deadlines for this grant are September 2 and December 2, at 5:00 PM. The grant will provide between $5,000 to $150,000 for up to one year of funding, with funds issued after November 27, 2020. This means that no projects should begin prior to this date. Although applicants may apply to both deadlines, they are only eligible to be awarded one grant per organization, between the two deadlines.
Eligible applicants must have a primary purpose of delivering community programs and services to benefit Ontarians, and need to have experienced disruptions to their operations, program, and service delivery due to Covid-19. The grant has 5 main outcomes, as illustrated in this diagram below:
